畢竟不知: 不 = bù before 知 (1st tone). 除邪 “to rid of the evil.” 且聽下回分解 “now hear it explained in the next chapter” — the storyteller's chapter-closing formula.
The chapter closes on the novel's invariable cliff-hanger formula. The 車遲國 arc is not yet resolved: though Wukong has won the rain-contest outright and shamed the immortals before the court, the three Tiger-, Deer-, and Ram-Power immortals will demand further ordeals — meditation on platforms, guessing hidden objects, and the trials of the severed head, the opened belly, and the cauldron of oil — in the chapter to follow (ch.46, 外道弄強欺正法／心猿顯聖滅諸邪), where they are at last exposed in their true animal shapes and destroyed.
