Who Spreads the Cloud?

Commentary
The pattern of the wind repeats with the cloud: the immortal's tablet appears to summon the mist, but the deities behind it answer to the Great Sage, not the altar. The chapter's contest settles into a refrain — tablet, apparent effect, celestial deference to Wukong — whose very repetition is the joke, each cycle making the immortal's magic look emptier.
