Mace and Whip Clash Anew; the Sea-Array Takes the Alligator
太子見說，開口罵道：「這潑邪！果然無狀。且不要教孫大聖與你對敵，你敢與我相持麼？」那怪道：「要做好漢，怕甚麼相持？」教：「取披掛。」呼喚一聲，眾小妖跟隨左右，獻上披掛，捧上鋼鞭。他兩個變了臉，各逞英雄；傳號令，一齊擂鼓。這一場比與沙僧爭鬥，甚是不同。但見那：太子见说，开口骂道：「这泼邪！果然无状。且不要教孙大圣与你对敌，你敢与我相持么？」那怪道：「要做好汉，怕甚么相持？」教：「取披挂。」呼唤一声，众小妖跟随左右，献上披挂，捧上钢鞭。他两个变了脸，各逞英雄；传号令，一齐擂鼓。这一场比与沙僧争斗，甚是不同。但见那：

Shark and mullet gobbled while anchovy and mackerel fled; oyster seized razor-clam, and clam and mussel took fright.

With a shout the golden mace came down heavy on his head, and the fiend-alligator, that mischief-making king, was taken.
總評 Commentary
A second battle 賦, and this time no stalemate: the prince's golden mace against the fiend's whip, amid a teeming muster of shrimp, crab, and every named fish of the deep. Where Sha Monk fought to a draw, Moang — 'a match for the Diamond King' — brings the mace down and takes the alligator-dragon.
