總評 Commentary

The charm has its off-switch — the word , “Still” — at which the summoned guardians dissolve back into hairs in the fingernail, and with that the freed monks scatter. Wukong’s parting instruction seeds the next chapter: stay near, watch for a 招僧榜, a proclamation recalling the monks, and return the hairs when it appears — a sign that the persecution has been reversed. The formulaic 四散不題, “scattered every way, and of them no more,” closes the sand-flat episode and turns the narration back toward the city, where Wukong and his companions will carry the fight into the 三清觀 that night.
